GhettoPrompt is a browser teleprompter with a built-in script builder. Everything you create is saved to your account in the cloud and is private to you — sign in on any device and your series, scripts, sponsors, and settings follow you.

Account

• Sign up with an email + password, then enter the confirmation code emailed to you.
• Log in any time; use Forgot password? to reset via an emailed code. Click the eye icon in a password field to reveal what you type.
• Log out from the top-right header.

Home screen

When you're logged in and not playing, the main view shows a welcome with a live preview of your unhighlighted and highlighted text — it updates instantly as you change Player Customization. Quick links there open Global Settings and this Help page. The teleprompter control bar is hidden on this screen and appears only while a script is loaded.

Playing a script

Pick a series in the left menu, expand it, and click an episode. In the page it starts scrolling after a short pause; in a separate window (see Player Customization) it waits for you to press Play. The control bar appears at the bottom while a script is loaded (and hides again on Stop). Hover any button to see its current keyboard shortcut in a green tooltip.

• Play / Pause — toggle scrolling.
• Faster / Slower — adjust the scroll speed.
• Stop — reset to the top and return to the menu (closes the separate window if you launched one).
• Full Screen — fill the screen for recording.
• Mirror — flip horizontally for a beam-splitter teleprompter. Playback always starts mirrored; toggle it off per script if you read directly off the screen.
• Scroll Up / Down — round arrow buttons pinned to the upper-right and lower-right, shown only while paused. Hold one to scroll the script back or forward; the highlighted line tracks the center just like during playback.

Keyboard shortcuts

Every control has a keyboard shortcut — hover a player button to see its current key (the green tooltip). Rebind any of them in Global Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts: click a shortcut, press the new key (or combo), then Save Shortcuts. Restore Defaults reverts to the table below. Shortcuts are ignored while a dialog is open.

F11 is partly controlled by the browser and works most reliably in the separate / fullscreen player.

Full episodes vs. Shorts

Every script is one of two types. This is the biggest thing to understand:

In short: Full wraps your content with intro + sponsors + outro and supports metadata; Shorts plays exactly the content you type, nothing added.

Script Builder

• Series — a folder of episodes. Create one under New Series, switch with the Series dropdown, or delete it (removes all its scripts & sponsors).
• Type — choose 🎬 Full or ⚡ Shorts (see the table above). The metadata fields hide automatically for Shorts.
• Episode — the name, e.g. Ep06. Saved as Ep06-<Type>.
• Metadata (Full only) — Title, Subtitle, Pause (seconds before scrolling starts), Keywords. These are parsed, not shown on screen.
• Generate / Copy — preview the final script text / copy it.
• Save to Series — saves the script (and, in per-episode sponsor mode, its sponsors).
• Scripts in this Series — pick one to Edit (loads it back into the form) or Delete (with confirmation).

Pace cues (Full & Shorts)

Put a Pace: line on its own to insert a reading pause (rendered as blank space). Use the Insert Pace button or type it:

• Pace: 3 — a number = that many blank lines
• Pace: slow / long — longer pause  ·  Pace: fast / short — brief  ·  Pace: normal — default

Global Settings

Open the Global Settings dialog from the Settings item in the header (or the link on the welcome screen). It holds settings reused across episodes:

• Podcast Name — your show name, available as {{PODCAST}} in the intro/outro.
• Host Name — your name, available as {{HOST}} in the intro/outro.
• Intro / Outro templates — used by Full episodes only (the outro is optional). They support these placeholders:
  • {{HOST}} — your host name
  • {{PODCAST}} — your show name
  • {{TITLE}} / {{SUBTITLE}} — from episode metadata
  • {{SPONSORS}} — full sponsor blurbs
  • {{SPONSOR_WORD}} — “sponsor” or “sponsors” (auto singular/plural)
  • {{SPONSOR_NAMES}} — sponsor names only, e.g. “Acme and Globex” (the part before the first “ - ” in each sponsor)

Sponsors

Sponsors are used by Full episodes (injected through the intro) and are edited in the Script Builder, per series. Each series has a Sponsor mode:

• Series-wide — one sponsor set used by every episode.
• Per-episode — each episode picks its own sponsors. The editor appears with the episode; check which sponsors to include and/or add episode-only ones. If an episode has none, it falls back to the series set.
• Reuse anywhere — any sponsor you've used appears as a checkbox you can include in another series or episode; or type a new one. A sponsor's name (for {{SPONSOR_NAMES}}) is the text before the first “ - ”, e.g. Acme - the best widgets → “Acme”.

Player Customization

In the Global Settings dialog, tune how the teleprompter looks. Changes preview live; click Save Player Customization to keep them (saved to your account):

• Font — choose a Google Font (or Default/Arial).
• Font size & weight — scale and boldness of the scrolling text.
• Font color — the normal (non-highlighted) line color.
• Highlight — background of the active line.
• Highlight text — text color of the active line only.
• Open in a separate window — plays each script in its own window that you can drag onto your teleprompter monitor; it reopens at that position and size next time. It waits for you to press Play (no auto-start), and Stop closes the window. Use the Full Screen control once it's placed.
  Cross-monitor placement needs Chrome/Edge and the one-time “Window management” permission (click Allow when prompted, or enable it in the site settings). Not supported in Firefox/Safari.

Tip: saves and errors show as toasts in the corner; deletes ask for confirmation first.
