GhettoPrompt is a browser teleprompter with a built-in script builder. Everything you create is saved to your account in the cloud and is private to you β sign in on any device and your series, scripts, sponsors, and settings follow you.
When you're logged in and not playing, the main view shows a welcome with a live preview of your unhighlighted and highlighted text β it updates instantly as you change Player Customization. Quick links there open Global Settings and this Help page. The teleprompter control bar is hidden on this screen and appears only while a script is loaded.
Pick a series in the left menu, expand it, and click an episode. In the page it starts scrolling after a short pause; in a separate window (see Player Customization) it waits for you to press Play. The control bar appears at the bottom while a script is loaded (and hides again on Stop). Hover any button to see its current keyboard shortcut in a green tooltip.
Every control has a keyboard shortcut β hover a player button to see its current key (the green tooltip). Rebind any of them in Global Settings β Keyboard Shortcuts: click a shortcut, press the new key (or combo), then Save Shortcuts. Restore Defaults reverts to the table below. Shortcuts are ignored while a dialog is open.
| Action | Default key |
|---|---|
| Play / Pause | Space |
| Faster | β |
| Slower | β |
| Full Screen | F11 |
| Stop | S |
| Mirror | Shift + Tab |
| Scroll Up (paused) | β |
| Scroll Down (paused) | β |
F11 is partly controlled by the browser and works most reliably in the separate / fullscreen player.
Every script is one of two types. This is the biggest thing to understand:
| π¬ Full | β‘ Shorts | |
|---|---|---|
| Use for | Full episodes / long-form | Short clips, reels |
| Intro | Yes β your intro template is prepended | No |
| Outro | Yes β your outro template is appended (if set) | No |
| Sponsors | Yes β injected via the intro | No |
| Metadata (Title, Subtitle, Pause, Keywords) | Yes | No β content only |
| Pace cues | Yes | Yes |
| Saved as | Ep06-Full | Ep06-Shorts |
In short: Full wraps your content with intro + sponsors + outro and supports metadata; Shorts plays exactly the content you type, nothing added.
Ep06. Saved as
Ep06-<Type>.Title,
Subtitle, Pause (seconds before scrolling starts),
Keywords. These are parsed, not shown on screen.Put a Pace: line on its own to insert a reading pause (rendered as
blank space). Use the Insert Pace button or type it:
Pace: 3 β a number = that many blank linesPace: slow / long β longer pause Β·
Pace: fast / short β brief Β·
Pace: normal β defaultOpen the Global Settings dialog from the Settings item in the header (or the link on the welcome screen). It holds settings reused across episodes:

(the part before the first β - β in each sponsor)Sponsors are used by Full episodes (injected through the intro) and are edited in the Script Builder, per series. Each series has a Sponsor mode:
